Advanced Questions:
Back To Top- What is Search Engine Friendly?
- Search Engine Friendly is a term that refers to the structure of a website, and more specifically, it's compatibility with search engine robots and spiders. By correctly coding your web site and content management system, Vision Fronts develops search engine compatible sites 100% of the time.
- Are your applications secure?
- Yes, Vision Fronts creates advanced background applications that are heavily shielded from common and even rarer types of attacks such as: SQL Injections and Dynamic or Cross-Site Injection.
- Will I receive spam from my website?
-
Not with a website created by Vision Fronts. We create a contact form for each client's website to ensure that their email address(es) are protected from spammers. In most cases the background application allows clients to add and remove email addresses from the site's contact form.
Note: Sometimes users who purchase their domain forget to have their registrar shield their personal information from the public. This is typically done using a payed 'protection' service offered by the registrar. - What technologies do you work with?
- We currently work with html, php, mysql, css, Javascript, Java, and Flash to name a few. If you would like to know more, please don't hesitate to ask.
- Do you work with asp?
- No, we do not work with Microsoft asp. We prefer to write applications for php running under linux. The majority of server configurations on the internet have linux installed and run php.
Design Questions:
Back To Top- Do you create 'regular' sites?
- Absolutely, we will develop a static site for you if you like, however, it's important to remember that static sites can quickly become outdated.
- Do you work with Flash?
- Yes we do, but we prefer to avoid flash on a web site that doesn't require it. If you want flash on your web site, however, we can definately accomodate you.
- Will my new site load fast?
- Yes, at Vision Fronts we design your site and optimize it so that it loads quickly and gives your users the information they need in an aesthetically pleasing and intuitive manner.
- Can I specify my own style?
- Of course, we design the look and feel for your website based on your input. It is your marketing tool and we will help you to make it anything you want it to be.
- Can you create a site from a sketch?
- Absolutely, if you have a great design and would like to see it implemented, or simply have a few ideas that you would like to see incorporated, we will work with you until your website is exactly the way you want it.
Hosting:
Back To Top- What does a host do?
-
When you buy a hosting package, you are essentially renting space on a server to host your web site. A good analogy for this situation is buying land on which to put your house. Once you've acquired the land, you can then design and build your house (your web site) on that space.
A host provides the physical machine that hosts your web site files and makes them available on the World Wide Web. When you visit a web page (either by clicking a link or visiting a site or image directly), the files that are displayed on your screen are distributed by the server that is hosting that web site. Most hosts also provide what is called a database server, which essentially provides a medium for storing, formatting and retrieving data, as well as application development platforms that allow applications to be run on the server prior to distributing the web site files to a visitor. This allows for dynamic web site configurations. The host is responsible for making sure that the hosting machines are operating efficiently and managing bandwidth (throughput) between data centers and servers. It's also important to mention that most hosts also provide email hosting that is usually included at no extra charge. This service essentially allows you to send and receive email from accounts attached to your domain name.
Vision Fronts specializes in designing and building web sites, web applications, and database applications that utilize the services provided by your host. We build web sites from start to finish and then place them on your server and make all needed configuration adjustments to ensure that your site is working properly. We can also assist you with setup and configuration of your email on the server. - Does a database cost extra?
- In general no, a database server is typically included with your hosting plan.
- How much does my site cost to host?
- For most cases, you can expect to pay anywhere from $6.95 to $20.00 per month to host your site to start. In some cases, higher traffic sites will need to be moved to a VPN or dedicated server which can range from ~$50-$200+ per month depending on the services offered.
- Can Vision Fronts host my site?
-
No, we do not offer hosting at this time, however, we are always glad to recommend a superb host and make all the necessary configuration adjustments to get your site up and running. After that, all you have to do is make sure to renew your account.
In the future, we may elect to begin offering our client's a full hosting package with our web site solutions, but for now we do not offer hosting.
- Where will I host my site?
- We will design your website and configure it on the host of your choosing. We can also help you find the proper host for your web site.
- Can you recommend a host?
-
Yes, but since different web sites have different requirements, we prefer to recommend webspace hosts on an individual basis.

Pricing:
Back To Top- Is there a price range?
-
A common analogy for the cost of a site is the cost of a new car.
How much would you expect to pay for a new car? It depends on the car, right?
This is very similar to website costing. That is, if you want a full blown e-commerce site with all the bells and whistles (a Ferrari) you should expect to pay quite a bit more than you would for a basic brochure site with minimal features (a Kia).
That being said, prices can range from $1200 to $20,000 and above depending on the site's complexity. - What should I watch out for?
-
Be weary of firms that will sell you an 'out of the box' or generic site control tool (often deemed: Content Management System) that is not custom. Many of these tools (Wordpress for example) weren't even designed for that purpose.
We will build your management tools from scratch to do exactly what you want them to do, and because we don't 'hack' other CMS applications such as Wordpress, we are able to provide a much more secure application. - Will my web site pay for itself?
-
Sure, after we have created your perfect marketing tool it has the potential to pay for itself 10x over. We give you the ability to show your demographic what they want to see.
You can also rest assured knowing that the next time your website needs to be updated, you can do it from the comfort of your office and it won't cost you anything. A sure money saver in the long run.
Requirements:
Back To Top- What if I already have a website?
-
We're happy to assist with minor web site revisions, or major overhauls. Remember, a poor website can be far worse than no website.
Try asking yourself these (4) questions:
-- Does my current site drive business and make my company look good?
-- Does my current web site look professional?
-- Is my site listed in major search engines?
-- Do I regularly receive queries from my web site?
If you answered no to any of the above questions, chances are you could benefit from a new web site. - I already have a domain with email?
- That's great! Now we just need to get a site designed for your business. If you already have a domain (with or without email configured) there are no issues with developing a new web site.
- What are your server requirements?
-
The websites we typically create depend on php version 4.0.1 or higher being installed on the server. Also, because we specialize in database driven web site design, most of our sites require mysql server Version 4.2.21 or greater.
Most hosting packages provide these options. If at any time you are unsure, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're glad to answer questions. - Are your applications browser independent?
-
Yes, we strive to create web sites that are cross-browser compliant. Each web site is tested in multiple browser versions on multiple platforms.
Some of our web sites may require javascript and/or cookies depending on the client's requirements.
Our control applications are also designed to be cross-browser compatable.
